How to Make Your Clients’ Lash Extensions Last Longer

Looking for a way to add some oomph to your look without too much effort? A quick and easy way to add drama is with false eyelashes! Women go crazy for them because they are an affordable and convenient way to achieve long and luscious lashes. But with any beauty product, there is always a downside. The main complaint we hear about lashes is that they don’t seem to last very long. So one minute, you’re fluttering your gorgeous lashes, and the next, they’re falling out or looking clumpy.

Being a professional eyelash extension artist, you know that one of the most important things you can do to keep your clients happy is to ensure their lash extensions last as long as possible because the health and beauty of your clients’ lashes rely on you. Your clients trust you to provide them with the best service possible, and it’s up to you to deliver.

In this blog post, we’ll give you some tips on making your clients’ lash extensions last longer. Stay tuned!

Use of Fresh Adhesive

This is number one for a reason. It is seriously THE most essential factor in ensuring your clients’ lash extensions last. If you are using old adhesives, it will not only decrease the bond between the extension and the natural lash, but it will also be more irritating to the eye area. No one wants that!

We recommend using a fresh adhesive every time you apply for lash extensions. This may seem like a lot of waste, but it’s worth it to ensure your clients’ lashes look fabulous and last longer. Also, it is advisable to change your adhesive every 30-60 days to ensure optimal performance.

Make Sure to Clean before You Apply:

You would never put makeup on without first cleansing your face, so why start the eyelash extension process by first making sure your natural lashes and eyelids are clean? We always recommend that our clients come in with clean lashes, but sometimes they don’t heed our advice.

If you find that your client’s lashes or eyelids are oily, use a cotton bud or brush to remove any oily residue before starting the application process gently. This will help the lash extension glue adhere better and make your client’s lash extensions last longer.

Educate Your Clients:

This is one of the most important things to ensure your clients’ lash extensions last as long as possible. Educate them on how to take care of their lash extensions and what products they should use (and avoid). For example, ensure they know not to use oil-based products around their eyes, as this will break down the adhesive bond. We also recommend avoiding waterproof mascara, as this can be difficult to remove and can again break down the adhesive bond.

Finally, educate your clients on the importance of regular lash appointments. Proper maintenance is key to keeping lash extensions looking their best and lasting as long as possible.

Control Your Environment:

Keeping your adhesives in the appropriate conditions is extremely important to get the maximum lifespan out of them. We recommend keeping your glue in the ideal working range to prolong its lifespan. However, each adhesive requires its specific storage conditions, so check with your adhesive manufacturer for more information. For instance, some need high temperatures while some require cool temperatures.

Take Proper Precautionary Measures to Cure Potential Cause:

It is essential to tell your clients about a lash treatment’s do’s and don’ts. You must explain the importance of not touching or rubbing their eyes and sleeping on their back and many such techniques that might help them increase the life of their lash extensions. Sometimes they don’t pay the required attention, and hence it is your job to make sure they understand everything. You can even use nano misters as they help retain your lash extensions.

The Bottom Line:

You can make your lash extensions last much longer by following these simple tips. Proper aftercare is essential to keeping your lashes looking their best. If you’re not sure how to take care of them or have any other questions, speak with your lash technician before your next appointment. With a little bit of effort and the correct information, you can keep those beautiful lashes looking fabulous for weeks!
